Ann Bernauer died peacefully in her sleep on June 15th, 2018 at age 86. Though in declining health, she continued to be full of love and sparkle in her eyes.
Born August 11th, 1931 in Salinas, California to Hunter and Gwendolyn Allen Johnson, she graduated from Stanford University in 1953 with a degree in Art History. She met and married Phil Bernauer while working for Westinghouse in 1959. She retired after a 20 year career at the Marin County Elections Dept.
Other than her children, her life passion was art. Her artwork was shown all over the Bay Area. She also championed other artists by mentoring the reative experience and volunteering her time to help them show their work.
She is survived by her son Matthew Bernauer of San Rafael, daughter Susan Bernauer of Seattle, and former husband and domino partner Phil Bernauer of San Rafael.
